The Telfair-Wheeler Airport (MQW) is located directly across from Little Ocmulgee State Park. The airport can accommodate any small passenger aircraft.  It has a lighted runway, terminal building with restrooms and no tie-down fee. Courtesy pickup is available for park visitors.

Sweetwater Horse Event Park can be used for horse training and racing as well as an entertainment venue.  This park has RV hook-ups and offers trail rides.  Sweetwater is available for year round use for events, shows, family gatherings, and numerous other activities.

Festivals:
The Alamo Fire Department invites you to attend the 13th Annual Independence Day Celebration on June 30, 2018. The festivities begin at 2pm with Arts & Crafts , food, rides and live entertainment all throughout the day.  At dark witness the Best Firework Show Around! Saturday, June 30th in downtown Alamo. The Spanish Moss Festival is an annual event hosted by the Friends of Little Ocmulgee State Park.  This arts & crafts festival has a wide variety of vendors offering something for everyone – great food, live entertainment, rides, a Saturday night concert at the amphitheater, and much more.  There is plenty of parking and leashed pets are welcomed.  The festival is held late September at Little Ocmulgee State Park.

Historical Finds:
Nancy Hart Highway Memorial named by Daughters of the American Revolution is located on Hwy 19 in Glenwood.

War Memorial in Alamo honors casualties from WWI, WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam.  Dedicated in 1996.

Wheeler County Courthouse, designed in the neoclassical style by E.C. Hosford and completed in 1915, is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

Camps:

Legacy Outdoor Ministries offers camps in summer for boys and girls, including the Georgia Hunting Safety Course. Legacy also offers Father/Daughter Hunts and Father/Son Hunts in the fall.

Ranger Camps are held at Little Ocmulgee State Park during the summer.

Rivers:

Enjoy boating, kayaking, canoeing or fishing on the Oconee River or the Little Ocmulgee River.
